About Us

The History of Carvin Bilingual School, Inc.
Preparing for life's challenges in a bilingual, bicultural society.

Founded in August 1970, Carvin Bilingual School, Inc. started with 23 Students in grades kindergarten through second. Its first home was a rented two-story house in Villa Fontana, Carolina, Puerto Rico. The next school year enrollment reached 90 students, and another two-story house had to be rented. This period in the history of Carvin School is fondly referred to as the era of the “Casitas.”

In 1978, the first senior class graduated 12 students. The last graduating class was composed of 88 graduates. “La Finca” as the secondary campus is fondly called, though only five minutes away from Carolina’s biggest and busiest shopping mall is quiet, recessed, and provides a pleasant atmosphere and an environment suited to study in undistracted concentration. Permanent classrooms, a pool, two covered basketball courts, a tennis court, and a new Middle School building have since been added.
